The fall out for MindGeek, which owns PornHub as well as other porn sites like SeanCody.com continues with customers unable to purchase subs with their VISA cards, despite all the content on sites like SeanCody.com being 100% legal.
Customers can still use their Mastercards to pay for subscriptions, but for how long is anyone’s guess.
Since a blistering New York Times piece which alleged that Pornhub, which is owned by MindGeek, was hosting community uploaded content of an illegal nature, PornHub made the decision to remove millions upon millions of videos, until it can verify whether or not the content is legal or not.
However, it seems it might be a little too late for VISA who said in a separate statement, “We are instructing the financial institutions who serve MindGeek to suspend processing of payments through the Visa network,”
Currently when users try to sign up to a host of MindGeek owned properties only the Mastercard payment option is available to use on its forms.
MindGeek controls brands such as SeanCody.com, RealityKings and Men.com, of all which produce legal content between consenting adults.
