Pornhub wipes millions of videos off its site

Decisive action from Pornhub

Troubled porn site, Pornhub has wiped millions of videos off its servers after it was accused of harbouring legal content.

Since a blistering New York Times piece which alleged that Pornhub was hosting community uploaded content of an illegal nature, PornHub has made the decision to remove millions upon millions of videos, until it can verify whether or not the content is legal or not.

Pornhub streams around 100 billion videos per year and has over 100 million visitors a day… A DAY.

According to the site, 118 videos of illegal content was found on the site, while over on Facebook over 84 millions piece of the same type of content was flagged.

After the NYT piece, both VISA and Mastercard said that they would no longer allow their payment cards to used to buy from the site.

In a statement PH said,

“Over the last three years, Facebook self-reported 84 million instances of child sexual abuse material. During that same period, the independent, third-party Internet Watch Foundation reported 118 incidents on Pornhub. That is still 118 too many, which is why we are committed to taking every necessary action.

“It is clear that Pornhub is being targeted not because of our policies and how we compare to our peers, but because we are an adult content platform.”

Mr. Man

“And this genuinely the kind of battle that adult performers, platforms and affiliates are facing on a daily basis. How can you even compare 84 million to 118?”
